Mary Henry did not grow up in a military family. She always considered herself patriotic, but did not really know what that meant until her son, Eric Harder, joined the Army in 2006. She states the her first reaction was fear for her son, but that quickly turned into pride. In the following 6 years Eric was deployed 3 times. Mary tried to help the troops that Eric was deployed with as much as she could.

Eric Harder grew up in Crystal Minnesota. His grandpa, a Korean War vet, was a great influence in his life. Eric started talking about joining the Army when he was in first grade. He even was able to sneak his GI Joe cap to school on picture day and convince the photographer that his mom wanted him to wear it for pictures.

Yani Byrd

Treasurer

Yani currently works for the Minnesota Department of Human Services. She volunteers as RAWs treasurer. Yani has years of bookkeeping experience and is very proficient in our budget as well as balancing our books.

Lori Lorenz

Secretary

Lori volunteers as RAWs secretary. She has worked for the Hopkins school district for 20 years in the special education field. Her attention to detail serves us well.

Amber Kent

Outreach Coordinator

Amber volunteers as our outreach coordinator. Amber works as a Alcohol, Tobacco & other drug prevention coordinator for the Milaca School District. Amber’s passion for Veterans and go-getter attitude makes her a perfect voice for RAW.

Tom Rasmussen

Tom Rasmussen

Advisor

Rasmussen served in the Army for 10 years. He was deployed 2 times as a CAV Scout with 3-61 out of Colorado Springs. Tom was awarded the silver star for his action on October 3rd 2009 during the battle of Cop Keating. Since leaving the Army he has been actively involved in the Wounded Veterans Waterfowl Club as a hunting guide. He currently resides in Texas.

Clinton Romesha

Former Staff Sergeant Clinton L. Romesha (pronounced Row-ma-shay) was born in Lake City, California in August 1981. Romesha deployed three times in support of the Operation Enduring Freedom, with two tours to Iraq and one tour to Afghanistan. At the time of the deadly attack on Combat Outpost (COP) Keating, Kamdesh district, Afghanistan, on Oct 3, 2009, Staff Sqt. Romesha was assigned as a section leader for Bravo Troop, 3-61 Cavalry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. Romesha is a Medal of Honor recipient.
